Chapter 18

  • 19 Aug, 2025

It was almost 10 at night when Mahir arrived at Shishmahal, Ajmer, after traveling from Delhi. Just as he was about to step inside, a woman appeared at the entrance. She was in her fifties, dressed in a white and blue saree, her hair tied in a loose bun. No makeup adorned her face, but her aura alone carried the weight of power and respect. She was Rajmata Shivanya Agnihotri.

    Unforgettable destiny

He looked into her eyes, a storm of emotion swirling behind his steady gaze. "You don't even know who I actually am," he said, his voice low, trembling just slightly. The fear was realโ€”raw. The thought of her discovering the truth, of walking away once she knewโ€ฆ it haunted him. After so much struggle finally they are together. now..he couldnโ€™t afford to lose her. Not when she meant everything. But then, without flinching, she met his eyes and answered with a calm that carried weight. "And you donโ€™t know who I amโ€ฆ or what I did to you." There was fire in her voice, but also something darker something buried. He didn't understand. Still, she seemed so composed, like it didnโ€™t shake her. But it shook him. Because if his secret ever came to light, he was certain it would destroy everything between them. Their bond, their love gone in an instant. She stepped back slightly, her voice soft now. Almost too soft. "I just know I love you. Thatโ€™s it." And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving him standing there. But the fear didnโ€™t leave her. It stayedโ€”settled in his chest, growing heavier by the second. Then, his phone rang. He glanced at the screen. That number again. His stomach twisted. He hesitated before answering. The moment the call connected, a cold, artificial voice spilled into his ear. "Just ten days leftโ€ฆ and I will steal her from you." The voice was mechanical, distantโ€”but filled with menace. Then came the laughter. Sharp. Cruel. Inhuman. His hands clenched into fists. Jaw tightened. Teeth grinding. Who was this mysterious man? What that Mysterious man about to do? And worseโ€ฆ what did she is hiding from him and what his identity which maybe destroy their relationship? Because now, it was clearโ€”Isha wasnโ€™t the only one being kept in the dark. Both of them were hiding something.

She was a guardian of the law, while he was its merciless broker. She pursued justice in the courtroom, draped in a black advocate's robe, armed with logic, evidence, and unwavering conviction. He delivered justice in the shadows, wearing the same dark coat, but his verdict was written in blood and silence. Both believed in justice- just not in the same way. She was chaotic and outspoken, a fearless voice that refused to be silenced. He was cold and restrained, a quiet observer whose silence spoke louder than words. If she was the sky then he was the soil They were never meant to cross paths. They were opposites in every conceivable way. Yet when their worlds collided, something unspoken and inexplicable began to take root between them. He carried the turbulence of a haunted past, and somehow she became the solace he never believed he deserved.
